New Year Book Tag

Monday Book Tag.

How many books are you planning to read in 2018?

I haven’t actually set myself a challenge yet, I can never work out how many books I’d be able to read because I always end up feeling so disappointed when I don’t manage to reach it. I think that I may stay clear of it this year, because I don’t like the pressure around reading – which is my favourite hobby so it doesn’t make sense to try and force myself to do it. On average I manage to read around 30 books a year.

Name 5 books you didn’t read this year but want to make a priority.

The Hate U Give, by Angie Thomas

Everless, by Sara Holland

The Last Namsara, by Kristen Ciccarelli

Furyborn, by Claire Legrand

A Dance with Dragons, by George R.R. Martin

Classics. I used to read these all of the time, and they were my absolute favourite genre but lately I’ve been slipping. I would love for 2018 to be the year that I get back into it and pick up some that I haven’t got round to reading yet.

I think it would definitely be an Austen or Dickens book, or another classic on my shelf – I have quite a few! In particular, I’ve been meaning to read Sense and Sensibility for quite a while now.

One word that you’re hoping 2018 will be.

Different. 2017 wasn’t that good for me, so I’m hoping that 2018 will be different for me. I’d like some new opportunities, and challenges so that I can keep trying to be better with my confidence.

Feel free to do this tag if you want! I would have done it earlier but I was ill during the first week of 2018, but feel so much better now to start reading this year.
