Klaus, the original vampire/werewolf hybrid, returns to New Orleans — which his family helped build — to investigate rumors of a plot against him, in this spinoff of “The Vampire Diaries.” He finds his former protege, Marcel, reigning powerful over its inhabitants, causing growing tension in the supernatural community. Klaus’ brother, Elijah, joins him, and they learn that werewolf Hayley has fallen into the hands of a defiant witch who has life-changing information. In hope of reclaiming the city, Klaus and Elijah form an uneasy alliance with the witches to help further their cause.

I wrote about TVD last week, so it only seemed fitting to write about The Originals this week! I’d go as far to say, that this spinoff show is even better.

The characters are just way more dynamic. It is so fun to watch Klaus walking the line between good and evil, and still rooting for him to find his own way into the light. The friendships are also more interesting, and the family go through so many emotions and you go through them all too.

The plots in all of the seasons still manage to recreate the same tension, and when they bring in new characters it just adds to it. All of the actors are amazing, which just helps to add to the drama of the script.

If you watch TVD then you really need to start watching this. It’s on a faster pace, more dramatic twists and you definitely go through so much more emotions. The amount of times I have cried over this show is unbelievable. I’m so sad that it will be over soon, but at least it will be a dignified ending and it finishes while it is still on a high.
